MONTHLY DAR NEWSLETTER VOL.2/3 ISSUE 12/1 DECEMBER/JANUARY 2006/7/1427/8 Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. INTRODUCTION This is a monthly newsletter of the Garissa Muslim Children’s Home also referred to Dar-al-Aytam in short (Dar) in Arabic. The center was established in 1969 by the Young Muslim Association to provide care and protection to orphans and destitute children. Other than the orphans, the center has offered education to hundreds of children through its constituent institutions such as the nursery school, primary school, madrasa and high school. Services offered to the community include, Da’wah, Iftar, Qurbani, peace and reconciliation, water, mosques, advocacy and networking.KCPE This year we had 124 candidates among them 18 were centre children. The best boy this year was AbdiNoor Dekow with 393 marks and the best girl was Fatuma Hussein with 397 marks. 7 students managed to be admitted to National schools.
